The JUNGE KUNST NK, which takes place for the second time in 2015 with the title “meer sehen”, is a worldwide unique young arts festival of the 48 Stunden Neukölln, and dedicates itself to dreams, nostalgia as well as fantasies of children and youths concerning their world. In over 50 events the young arts festival shows the range of creative art by children and youths in Neukölln and offers a wide variety of programmes for families and young festival visitors.

The JUNGE KUNST NK will be opened on Friday, June 26, at 11am in the central location of the YOUNG ARTS NEUKÖLLN by Jan-Christopher Rämer, the District Councillor for Education, School, Culture and Sport in Neukölln and Falko Liedcke, the District Councillor for Youth and Health in Neukölln.

In the end, the exhibition “Wie wir die Welt retten!” can be seen where children and youths developed their world saving ideas together with artists. Does the world mean the big picture – with climate change, industrial pollution, natural catastrophes, war, hunger, flight and homelessness? Or is the world nearby, in the neighbourhood, family, friends, school and recreation? In the exhibition, the YOUNG ARTS NEUKÖLLN, present the results of workshops that have already taken place beforehand with artists and different themes. On Saturday and Sunday at 3pm a tour by the artist and curator Martina Becker will escort families and youths through fascinating locations of the festival of the YOUNG ARTS NK.

From 3:30pm until 5pm on Sunday, the young short film programme in Cineplex Neukölln in the Neukölln Arcaden will show humorous, reflective and experimental films from and with Neukölln children and youths.

In the programme of the JUNGE KUNST NK you will find numerous artists and young projects, among other things different musical activities and hands-on programmes.

The JUNGE KUNST NK is sponsored by the BALLY WULFF Stiftung to support Neukölln children and the District Office of Neukölln, Department of Youth.
